Our Solution

RAD’s satellite backhaul optimization solution enables mobile operators to improve GSM backhaul efficiency over expensive satellite links, thereby saving on OpEx.

 

Supporting both point-to-point satellite backhaul and point-to-multipoint satellite backhaul over TDM or IP networks, RAD’s satellite backhaul optimization solution multiplexes and reduces bandwidth consumption by 3:1 by eliminating redundant and idle frames on the Abis and Ater interfaces.

 

The Vmux-400 GSM Abis/Ater optimization gateway reduces the number of E1 trunks required for BTS-BSC and BSC-MSC backhaul by 50% and more, freeing up the backhaul connection for additional traffic or next generation services.

 

The Vmux-400 GSM optimizes GSM Abis/Ater traffic and transports it over an E1/T1, serial or 10/100BaseT Ethernet link.

 

Compression technology is used to further optimize satellite backhaul by deploying the Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway on MSC-PSTN traffic (E interface) over satellite.
