Reducing Bandwidth Usage for Remote Broadcasting Teams

Your Needs

Supply news agencies with a rapidly deployed solution which reduce bandwidth usage in mobile satellite uplinks

Our Solution

Agencies wanting to provide live, on-the-spot news coverage by transmitting over mobile satellite uplinks can employ RAD’s Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway, paired with the Vmux-210 analog voice trunking gateway to reduce voice transmission costs. The Vmux-2100 can compress up to 16 full E1/T1 circuits over a single E1/T1 circuit, while the Vmux-210 analog voice trunking gateway, installed at the mobile satellite uplink site, compresses up to 30 analog lines. Vmux devices further reduce infrastructure costs by converging voice and data services.

Voice activity detection and silence suppression allow Vmux units to dynamically allocate bandwidth for voice traffic. This results in efficient bandwidth usage, leaving more bandwidth available for data transport.
