Militaries worldwide have tremendous communication needs, placing enormous demands on their bandwidth-constrained satellite communication systems (MILSATCOM). With bases worldwide communicating with their headquarters, cost-efficient military satellite communications is a must, both as the default system and as a backup to landlines. Further, militaries by necessity work with a large variety of communication equipment, incorporating different standards and protocols.
RAD’s Vmux voice trunking gateways enable militaries to maximize the capacity of existing satellite communication systems, without adding extra resources. Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateways, paired with the Vmux-110 remote site voice trunking gateway or Vmux-210 analog voice trunking gateways significantly reduce bandwidth requirements with 16:1 voice compression. Vmux devices support FXS, FXO or E&M voice ports, compressing and transmitting them over an n x 64 kbps, fractional E1/T1, E1/T1, or 10/100BaseT uplink.
